The City of Belmont Parks & Recreation Walking Challenge is a year round program where participants get an aerobic workout by simply putting one foot in front of the other while enjoying the magnificent scenery within and around the City of Belmont. This tour reflects a 3 mile walking route you can take today to explore our City while improving your health in the process!

Walking is one of the most aerobic sports, and is widely promoted for its cardiovascular benefits, improved circulation, stress release, calorie burning (weight loss) and its overall boost to mental and physical energy levels while improving health and self-esteem. Walking offers the same cardiovascular benefits that can be received from running.

The City of Belmont Parks & Recreation Walking Challenge is a year round program where walkers will be recognized on documented mileage and personal goals met.

Who Can Participate:

Anyone and everyone

Program Requirements:

  • Complete the walking club registration and release form, and submit to the Belmont Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Walk at your own pace.
  • Keep a personal log of your progress.
  • Report weekly mileage to the recreation center where it will be recorded.
  • Quarterly reports of walker's mileages will be included on the City of Belmont website.
  • Participants are encouraged to seek the advice of your physician before beginning any exercise program.
